Capstone Presentation
I had a tri-fold that explained the key points of my project, a laptop with my end product showcased, and an iPad used to show another part of my end product. My presentation went smoothly. I was one of the first to be judged so I was done fairly early. My judges were nice, asked a few questions, and gave good feedback. The presentation experience ended up not being as bad as I thought it would be. Once I started presenting the information flowed and I feel like I gave a good presentation. The hardest part was before I presented to the judges. I was really nervous but it ended up going very well and I am happy with how the night went.
The most fun was when I presented to the juniors. All the students who came to my table were interested in what I had to say and they asked good questions. Overall, Capstone was a good experience and I am glad we did it.

Capstone Presentation Assets
For my presentation table, I will use a tie-dye table cloth to catch people's attention and go along with my Capstone project idea. I will create a tri-fold that incorporates the data I have collected and will also include tweets from my end product Twitter account. On the table, I will have an iPad set up with the quiz I created and a laptop with the Twitter account I created. I will have some "Dum-Dums" with a sign that says "don't be a dum-dum, get environmentally educated."

Infographic Poster
How your Infographic Poster relates to your Capstone Project.
My Infographic shows the benefits the sustainable food garden will have on the children of the at risk community.
Did you have to do more research to complete your poster?
No, I had all the information I needed for my poster in my Capstone essay.
What was the easiest and hardest thing about creating the infographic?
The easiest part was getting the information for the graphic and the hardest part was putting the information in a unique and creative format.
Did you create your infographic in the Winter Term or this semester? If in Winter Term, what additions or changes did you make?
Yes, I created my infographic in Winter Term. I increased the border size and shifted some graphics around to make the font more readable.
Is your poster done or do you still have some tweaking to finish?
I need to condense the text in my main paragraph so it's easier to read. I also need to shift my title down to increase the border.

Infographic Planning
Idea
I made an infographic in January term but it no longer applies to my Capstone. For my new infographic I could focus on statistics of the amount of litter on our earth and compare it to the recycling and re-purposing programs available. Or a could create a diagram showcasing the different ways to be environmentally friendly i.e. turning off lights, reduce the use of plastic bottles, recycle.
I could also make an infographic for a public space.

PSA for Capstone Project Concept
How did you address your statement of intent?
I addressed my statement of intent by proving the importance of disposing of trash properly by showing the devastating effects littering has on the environment, people, and animals.
Did you meet the requirements?
Yes.
What would you do differently?
For my next PSA I think I will try the animated text and Screen-castomatic tool to create my video. I like how the viewer has to read to get the meaning of the video. I feel like they pay more attention this way. Another thing I would do differently is finish my video on time.
What was the easiest and hardest part about producing your video?
The easiest part was finding the pictures and statistics to put in my video. The program I used made it simple to put everything together. There wasn't really anything hard about the video producing process.

Capstone PSA Planning
Article Comment:
I learned from the article that the PSA needs to be written in "real language." Using big words and complicated sentences doesn't make your PSA any more effective and may also hurt your PSA. I also learned that a PSA is nothing more than a conversation with the audience. Important things to keep in mind include clarity of the PSA and only delivering a single core message in the PSA.
Video 1:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0W2Ic5hV28w
In this PSA I liked how they used strictly written text visuals. I like the idea of the viewer reading the information off the video because I feel they will pay more attention and get more information from the PSA. The handwriting was nice and easy to follow. This video was organized very well.
Video 2:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HioRX31dmws
I liked how this video was kind of funny but also shared a serious issue. This video differs from the other because it gets straight to the point and has an actor doing a scene rather than moving text on a screen. This video is also easy to follow and understand as compared to the other one.
My PSA:
In my video, I will emphasize the harmful effects littering has on our environment and how disposing of trash properly is beneficial to us.
I am thinking of using powerful images that use emotional appeal to get viewers to understand why littering is so bad. I feel that using sad music will pull at the heart strings and be effective in getting my point across.
My PSA will be mostly text and images and maybe a few video clips. The video will be serious.
Structure:
Series of pictures and text describing the effects littering has on the environment.
For example: pictures of how animals get caught up in trash/eat trash.
pictures of how trash effects our landscapes
Also add statistics on the amount of littering that happens each year
Then add solutions on how to reduce the amount of littering that happens each year and the importance of reducing the amount of trash on the planet

Capstone Project Statement of Intent
Capstone Project Statement of Intent
a) My main goal of this project is to teach young people and the community the importance of being environmentally conscious and the need to live a sustainable life.
b) The sustainable community food garden is important because it will teach people ways to be environmentally friendly. The garden will teach the kids responsibility, show them ways to eat healthy, and provide an example of a way to better the earth.
c) These goals fit with my career objectives because I want to teach for environmental education initiatives. These programs teach students what it means to live an environmentally friendly life.
d) My project will give back to society by giving a place for at risk kids to come after school and gain hands on experience and teach them skills they can't learn in the classroom. The crops produced from the garden will be given back to the low-income community to give them a way to have healthy foods in their home. The garden will also have positive benefits for the environment.
