Article Comment:
I learned from the article that the PSA needs to be written in "real language." Using big words and complicated sentences doesn't make your PSA any more effective and may also hurt your PSA. I also learned that a PSA is nothing more than a conversation with the audience. Important things to keep in mind include clarity of the PSA and only delivering a single core message in the PSA.
Video 1:

In this PSA I liked how they used strictly written text visuals. I like the idea of the viewer reading the information off the video because I feel they will pay more attention and get more information from the PSA. The handwriting was nice and easy to follow. This video was organized very well.
Video 2:

I liked how this video was kind of funny but also shared a serious issue. This video differs from the other because it gets straight to the point and has an actor doing a scene rather than moving text on a screen. This video is also easy to follow and understand as compared to the other one.
My PSA:
In my video, I will emphasize the harmful effects littering has on our environment and how disposing of trash properly is beneficial to us.
I am thinking of using powerful images that use emotional appeal to get viewers to understand why littering is so bad. I feel that using sad music will pull at the heart strings and be effective in getting my point across.
My PSA will be mostly text and images and maybe a few video clips. The video will be serious.
Structure:
Series of pictures and text describing the effects littering has on the environment.
For example: pictures of how animals get caught up in trash/eat trash.
pictures of how trash effects our landscapes
Also add statistics on the amount of littering that happens each year
Then add solutions on how to reduce the amount of littering that happens each year and the importance of reducing the amount of trash on the planet

Capstone Project Statement of Intent
Capstone Project Statement of Intent
a) My main goal of this project is to teach young people and the community the importance of being environmentally conscious and the need to live a sustainable life.
b) The sustainable community food garden is important because it will teach people ways to be environmentally friendly. The garden will teach the kids responsibility, show them ways to eat healthy, and provide an example of a way to better the earth.
c) These goals fit with my career objectives because I want to teach for environmental education initiatives. These programs teach students what it means to live an environmentally friendly life.
d) My project will give back to society by giving a place for at risk kids to come after school and gain hands on experience and teach them skills they can't learn in the classroom. The crops produced from the garden will be given back to the low-income community to give them a way to have healthy foods in their home. The garden will also have positive benefits for the environment.
